Thank you for your interest in supporting the PGP
Since it’s beginning, in 2005, the PGP has been 100% supported by generous donations by private individuals and companies who believe in the mission of the project, however, we are far from achieving our goals of providing sequencing, phenotype data and biological resources for over 100,000 individuals.
You can easily make a donation of money or your data to further the project’s mission and goals to benefit science worldwide…both are extremely valuable.
Donating money
When you donate, here are a few examples of how your tax-deductible contribution may be used (approximate costs):
- Blood or saliva collection from a single individual – $100
- Sequencing a whole genome for a single individual – $1,000
- Creation of a stem cell line – $5,000
Donating Data
Data is the lifeblood of the PGP, and we need as much as we can get so that it can accelerate global research. If you have your own whole genome sequence data, exome sequence data, 23andme SNP files, ancestry.com or Genesforgood data, please consider sharing them as a PGP participant. (A list of genome sequencing service providers is available on Dr. Church’s website, however this is not an endorsement of any of the providers.)
If you are already a member of the PGP, please login to our account, and upload your data…don’t forget your survey data!
If you aren’t yet a member of the PGP, please consider joining to share your data for research!
